Degree Subject: Theology

Favourite thing about DUPO: The overall friendly atmosphere which is created by having a relaxed social environment which also succeeds in playing music to a very high standard. Also it is lovely to see how the orchestra progresses from the start of the year to the final concert from a musical standard and also through a social journey with one of the highlights of the year being tour.

Favourite piece of music: It would either be Vaughn Williams Five Variants on Dives of Lazarus or Shostakovich's 10th Symphony which is just incredible!

Conductor

Adam Laughton

Year of study: Second (BA)

Degree Subject: Music

Instrument (in DUPO): Conductor Favourite thing about DUPO: The fantastic atmosphere combined with the brilliant and lively sound of the ensemble, plus a frightfully handsome conductor, all comes together for a great orchestra!

Favourite piece of music/composer: Shostakovich 7 is my favourite work because of the sheer scale, brilliance and significance of the music. Shostakovich is also my favourite composer, but I am also a massive fan of Sibelius and Rachmaninoff.
